Steven Wayne Hastings

Steven Wayne Hastings, of Harrisonville, Missouri, was born on December 27, 1956, in Independence, Missouri, the son of Gayles Hastings and Martha Lucille Peery. He departed this life on Monday, May 26, 2025, at his home in Harrisonville, at the age of 68.

Steven was a graduate of Harrisonville High School. After graduation, he began a career in construction through the carpenter’s union. He had a deep love for the outdoors and spent much of his free time hunting, fishing, and enjoying time with his family.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his sister, Becky Hastings; and his grandmother, lovingly known as Grandma Dyke.

Steven is survived by his two children, Renee Crust (Donald Crust) of Harrisonville, MO, and Sasha Cummons (Chris Rushly); four siblings, Kathy and Jim Minshall of East Lynne, MO, Wendy Hastings-Surber of Osceola, MO, Willie Hastings of Collins, MO, and Lori Jane Spencer of Grandview, MO; three grandchildren, Taryn Huskey of Harrisonville, MO, Felicia Chalmers of Peculiar, MO, and Gavin Cummons of Belton, MO; five great-grandchildren, Harper, Knox, Ridge, Luka, and Livia; as well as many other relatives and a host of friends.

Cremation with a Celebration of Life Gathering will start at 5:00 p.m. Thursday, June 5, 2025 at Cass County Elks Lodge 2791, Harrisonville, Missouri.
