Theresa Lynn (Evans) Bennett

October 11, 1951 — October 14, 2015

Theresa Lynn (Evans) Bennett of Montrose, Mo was born on Oct. 11, 1951 in Mobile, Alabama the youngest of 4 girls to Raymond & Joyce (Boyles) Evans. She departed this life at Research Hospital in Kansas City, Mo on Wed. Oct. 14, 2015.
Theresa graduated from Sherwood High School in 1969. She was married to Johny Earl Dodson Sr. in April 1969 and to this union 3 children were born; Sherry, Johny & Wanda Kay. They later divorced and she married Michael Wayne Bennett on Dec. 10, 1981. Her family often called her a nomad because she was always willing to up and move. During her life, she lived in Urich, Garden City, Pleasant Hill, North Kansas City, Phoenix, Nv, Las Vegas, Nv, Taberville, Mo and finally her and Mike settled in Montrose, Mo.
Theresa wore several different career hats over the years. She worked as a billing clerk at Wayne Minor in Kansas City; she helped her mother run a restaurant in Urich known as Granny’s Kitchen; she managed several storage and U-Haul rental locations in Phoenix, Az and Las Vegas, Nv; she cooked at the El Dorado Springs nursing home; and her and Mike owned and operated a bar and grill in Taberville, Mo called Diamond in the Ruff. For the last several years she has been a caregiver to her husband Mike.
Theresa was always a fighter and a little bit of a tomboy, she was the boy that her daddy never had. He would take her hunting and would always have her work on cars with him. There wasn’t much that she couldn’t do or that she wouldn’t at least try. She loved her animals consisting from dogs, horses, a duck and a rabbit. She had a deep love for her family and was loyal to a fault. No matter what the situation, you could always count on her to be there lifting you up while making you laugh all the way along. She was a constant jokester and prankster. She would get a look in her eye and you knew she was up to no good. She had a comeback line for anything you could throw at her.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
She is survived by her husband Michael, daughters Sherry Lynn Kennedy and companion Ryan Kalwei, Montrose, Mo; Wanda Kay Dodson-Remer and companion Noom Drowns, Kanchanaburi, Thailand; and her son Johny Earl Dodson Jr. and wife Jodi, Marshfield, Mo; a step daughter Kimberly Gose (Damien), Jefferson City, Mo; 7 grandchildren, Kory, Alisha, Kristen, James, Kyle, Tyler & John Michael; a great grandson Kaiser; 3 sisters Patsy Hoit (Harrison) Butler, Mo, Donna Jones (David), Harrisonville, Mo and Barbara Spinning Jones (Robert), Freeman, Mo.
