Walter Allen “Butch” Davidson, 90, a lifelong resident of Pleasant Hill, was born March 10, 1926, on the family farm just north of Pleasant Hill, the son of Walter and Malinda May (Johnson) Davidson. He departed this life Sunday, May 22, 2016, at the Saint Luke’s East Hospital, Lee’s Summit.
Butch was a 1944 Pleasant Hill High School graduate. Following high school, Butch went to work for Sears & Roebuck in Kansas City. The call of farming lured him back to the family farm and he worked the same farm until his passing. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, gardening, and farming.
Butch was preceded in death by his parents and one sister, Alice Etta Kosfeld.
He is survived by his brother, William “Bill” Davidson of Lee’s Summit; three nephews, Larry (and Diane) Kosfeld, of Greenwood, David (and Margaret) Kosfeld, and James (and Sarah) Kosfeld, all of Pleasant Hill; one niece, Malinda Kosfeld-Neve of Pleasant Hill; other relatives and friends.
Per Butch’s request, cremation has been accorded. Private burial of ashes will be in the Pleasant Hill Cemetery at a later date.
