Walter Linn Goddard age 93 passed away May 19, 2023 at Crown Care, Harrisonville, Missouri with his loving wife by his side.  Walter was born January 10, 1930 in Everett, MO to Morris V. and Mary "Louise" (Dorsett) Goddard.
 
Walter was in the class of 1947 at Archie High School, Archie, MO.  In 1951 Walter went into the Army and proudly served in the Military Police in Korea.  Shortly after returning home he met the love of his life, Margaret A. Smith.  They were married May 1, 1953 in Harrisonville, MO.  Walter started working at the Bendix Corp. in 1955 retiring from Honeywell in 1991 after 35 1/2 years of service.  Walter was a member of the First Christian Church where he served as a Deacon and on several Committees.  In his spare time Walter enjoyed spending time with his family, taking the scenic route home, fishing, hunting quail and morel mushrooms, and playing cards with friends.
 
Walter was proceeded in death by his parents, brothers Alva Morris and Paul Hadley (Louise), sister Jerry Ann Champ (Chuck), brother-in-law Don Brooks and daughter-in-law Melanie Goddard.
 
Left to mourn his loss are his wife Margaret, sons Ron (Cher) Goddard, Bob Goddard, daughter Debra (Rick) Schewe.  Grandchildren Steve Goddard, Crystal Shultz, Heather (BJ) Sanders, Tony (Amber) Rogers and Jennifer (Antoine) Ross. Great Grandchildren Linnsey and John Shultz, Bristol and Liam Sanders, Hayden Rogers, Damien, Kendall, Hunter Goddard, and Aubree Ross.  Sister Mary Lee Brooks, Sister-in-law Ginger Goddard and many family members and friends
 
Graveside service with Military Honors will be held at Freeman Cemetery, Freeman Mo on June 3rd, 2023 at 10:30 am.
 
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Walter's memory to One Community Hospice, Independence MO or Children's Mercy Hospital Kansas City, MO.
