He joined the Army in 1958 stationed in Ft. Leonardwood, MO and honorably discharged in 1964. After being discharged, they moved to Cass County, Mo where he went to work for Richard’s Gebauer on the flight line and farmed. Then he went to work for Martin Marietta Quarries where he retired after 25 years. He took a part time job with V.T. Inc. Bill had a heart for the community and spent many hours helping at the Food Pantry, Hope Haven, area churches and anyone that he knew needing help. His true passion was his faith and family. He enjoyed helping all his children, grandchildren and great grandchild. He loved telling stories and teasing. He also enjoyed sitting back and listening to all the kids and grandkids talking, telling stories and laughing. He had a good sense of humor up until the very end. Whenever he encountered someone new, he would ask them, “If they knew the Lord?” He continued to be a witness until the end. Bill had a mighty army of prayer warriors who flooded heaven on his behalf keeping his spirits up from day to day all these years. He passed peacefully in his sleep on Monday July 30, 2012 at home with his beloved wife and two of his daughters at his side. He had been battling ALS since 2008.
