Zach McCubbin

Zachariah Donovan “Zach” McCubbin of Archie, Missouri was Born December 26, 1985 in Kansas City, Missouri the son of William Ray and Kimberly Kaye (Smith) McCubbin. He departed this life on Saturday, February 4, 2023 at 4:45 pm at Research Medical Center, Kansas surrounded by love and family at the age of 37 years, 1 month and 9 days.

Zach and his wife, Jessica Sutton started dating on September 23, 2002 and married June 20, 2015 and to this union was born Tensley in 2011 and Sutton in 2016.

Zach spent his life focusing on the things that mattered.  His devotion to others, his family and his friends were the very heart of who he was.  While he loved fishing in the back yard or anywhere really, had a constant loop of sports running in every room of the house, owned more Chiefs and Ducks jerseys than was normal, he knew what mattered in his life, his wife and kids.  Soulmates while claimed often are extremely rare, Zach & Jessica were truly that.  From the moment they started dating there was no more Zach or Jessica, but Zach & Jessica.  They grew up together, had two beautiful children together and put in the hard work of a 11 year battle with cancer together.  There was nothing Zach accomplished in his life he was more proud of than his children.  They were his everything.  He spent hours watching cooking shows with Tensley and playing video games with Sutton.  Whether it was coaching or yelling from the sidelines, he was always there to support them.  He was truly one of the good ones who will leave a lasting memory on every person lucky enough to have called him a friend or family.

Zach is survived by his wife, Jessica Sutton, and their two children, Tensley & Sutton McCubbin, his parents, William & Kimberly McCubbin, his younger brothers, Matt McCubbin & William McCubbin Jr., and sister, Fallon McCubbin.  His in-laws Johnny & Robin Sutton and a large extended family.  He will be missed by a large network of family, friends, and co-workers.
