Obituary for Jessie Gilbert Wooliver

Jessie Gilbert Wooliver of Lee's Summit, Missouri was born October 27, 1929 in Salem, Missouri the son of Lincoln Charles and Cora (Mounce) Wooliver. He departed this life on Friday, April 19, 2019 at his home surrounded by love and family at the age of 89 years, 5 months and 23 days.

On January 6, 1950, Jessie was united in marriage to Effie Lorene Fetters. Later on January 21, 2000, he was united in marriage to Evelyn Gladys (Arthur) Wyatt in Brownsville, Texas.

Jessie was employed as a warehouse worker for Kroger Groceries, St. Louis, Missouri until his retirement. He was an Army veteran of the Korean War. Jessie and Evelyn were "snow birds" to Brownsville, Texas every winter. He enjoyed planting flowers for Evelyn, being at the lake and to ride in his boat. In his younger days, Jessie enjoyed fishing and horseback riding.

Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his 1st wife, Effie Wooliver on July 7, 1990; 2 brothers, Miles and James; 2 sisters, Rose and Ester; a step-great-grandson, George Pappas and a step-great-great-grandson, Jared Jones.

Jessie is survived by his wife, Evelyn Wooliver of the home; three children, Vicky Lynn Warner, Terry Joe Wooliver (Debbie), Jeffrey Charles Wooliver (Melissa); 3 grandchildren, Tabitha Hunter, Christen Warner and Michael Steinheimer; 2 great-grandchildren, Jackson Warner and Resse Hunger; 3 step-children, Gary Wyatt, Rodney Wyatt and Rocky Wyatt (Peggy); 13 step-grandchildren; 43 step-great-grandchildren; 31 step-great-great-grandchildren; other relatives and many friends.

Funeral services were held Thursday, April 25, 2019 at the Dickey Funeral Home, Harrisonville, Missouri.
